Prof. Dr. Leonid Luks (ZIMOS)

About

I study the post-Soviet extreme right at the Eichstaett Institute for Central and East European Studies (ZIMOS), a small, yet active research center, in Upper Bavaria, focusing on current Russian political and intellectual history. See http://www1.ku-eichstaett.de/ZIMOS/ . Since 2005, I have been also involved in the creation, in Ukraine, of a new Master's program in German and European Studies administered jointly by Kyiv's Mohyla Academy and Jena's Schiller University. See http://dsg.mohyla.uni-jena.de/ .

I would be glad to hear from people with similar research interests (see below), and from those wanting to publish their dissertations, monographs, edited volumes or document collections in the English- and German-language book series "Soviet and Post-Soviet Politics and Society" where 85 volumes were published in 2004-2008 (www.ibidem-verlag.de/spps.html ). Among the particular (but not only) foci of this series are Russian nationalism (http://www.amazon.com/gp/blog/post/PLNK38GJQXL0CN9AM ), post-communist politics (http://www.amazon.com/gp/richpub/listmania/byauthor/ABDE6L94T5H8R/ ), and higher education in CEE or the NIS (http://www.amazon.de/Higher-Education-in-Eastern-Europe-English-language-Books/lm/R3BBCQE249Q9D3/ ).

ZIMOS's web journal "Forum noveishei vostochnoevropeiskoi istorii i kul'tury" (http://www1.ku-eichstaett.de/ZIMOS/forumruss.html ) invites Russian-language scholarly papers in the fields of contemporary East European history, post-Soviet politics, and Eurasian cultural studies.
